Romeo

Meet Romeo, a resilient and affectionate giant. Romeo was rescued together with Milo from the same dairy farm. As a calf in the dairy industry, Romeo was destined to the fate of a veal crate. He arrived at Welcome Home when he was just 10 days old.

We named him Romeo, for his loving nature and apparent intelligence. Romeo's presence at the sanctuary is enchanting. He is such a big steer and yet so gentle and kind. Despite being the biggest steer at Welcome Home, he is unaware of his enormity: He leaps with excitement when out in the field and finds pleasure playing with his best friend Milo. Seeing him thrive and be safe just fills your heart with joy.
