WHY SANCTUARIES?
Farm animals are among the most abused creatures on Earth. An estimated 92.2 billion land animals are slaughtered every year in the global food system. The majority of farm animals are held in factory farms where they endure horrific conditions: They are subjected to confinement, abuse, and inhumane treatment. We stand against this exploitation and provide sanctuary to animals who have suffered.
Providing a lifelong, safe home
Farm sanctuaries provide a lifelong home for animals rescued from cruel conditions such as factory farms and “hobby farms”, where profit is prioritized over animal welfare and quality of life. Sanctuaries provide animals like cows, pigs, sheep and chickens a safe and loving environment, which promotes physical healing and emotional well-being. This compassionate approach allows animals to thrive. Despite their traumatic pasts, they often exhibit remarkable resilience and capacity for love. We consider it a privilege to offer them the care, trust, and affection they deserve.
Connecting with Animals
Many farm sanctuaries offer guided tours and volunteer opportunities, allowing visitors to connect with animals on a personal level. These experiences foster empathy and compassion, inspiring individuals to adopt cruelty-free lifestyles and become advocates for animal rights. Meeting farmed animals in real life is a powerful motivator for compassion.
Educating and Promoting Compassion
Farm sanctuaries serve as educational platforms. Through events in the community, website content, and social media, sanctuaries help provide a deeper understanding of the realities of factory farming and the impact of our food choices. Visitors learn about the daily lives of farm animals, the environmental impact of animal agriculture, and the benefits of a plant-based diet.
Making a Positive Impact
Supporting farm sanctuaries directly helps animals by providing them with a loving and safe environment away from exploitation. Farm sanctuaries give animals a chance to live happily and freely, away from the harms of animal agriculture. It's a compassionate way to make a positive impact on their lives.
