Meet Fred! Fred's story is one of survival and transformation. 

Fred's journey began after a distressing experience at a goat dairy farm, where a botched disbudding left him with an infected head wound. The dangerous infection was life-threatening if left untreated, but the farmer was not willing to provide the treatment needed to save Fred’s life.

Rushed to Welcome Home for emergency care, Fred's condition had worsened and the infection had spread. Through months of dedicated treatment and nurturing, Fred’s wounds healed and he blossomed into a lovable gentleman. 

Several years ago, Fred faced yet another obstacle when he suffered a debilitating leg injury. Through a series of casts and treatments, the strain eventually took its toll on one of his good legs, causing it to bow under the pressure. Yet, Fred perseveres, donning his brace with dignity and courage.

Today, Fred serves as our sanctuary ambassador, a beacon of hope and resilience to all who cross his path. He is a beloved member of our sanctuary family, cherished by volunteers and visitors alike for his loyalty and affection. Always by our side, Fred eagerly joins in our activities, his gentle presence a reminder of the power of friendship and community.
